Emergency Vet
We know that accidents and illness can happen at any time.
There are a few things you can do to make things a little easier when mishaps happen.
- Have our practice telephone number saved on your mobile or written down somewhere prominent by your home telephone. Always call ourselves or our out of hours service provider before attending.
- Know where you are going and the quickest way to get there.
- Keep all your pet’s documents, insurance papers, vaccination card etc, in one easily accessible place. This saves the stress of you having to hunt for this information in an emergency. It is a good idea that also includes a written note of any medication or medical conditions your pet has with this information.
- If your pet is being looked after by someone make sure they have your contact number so you can be reached if the unthinkable happens.
To make sure you have access to high quality care when we are closed, we are partnered with Vets Now, the leading provider of Emergency Out of Hours care.
The Vets Now are the A&E equivalent for pets based at their own hospital premises at
123-145 North Street, Glasgow G3 7DA.
The team at Vets Now are always there when we are closed, so you can rest assured that you and your pet will always have veterinary care available regardless of the time of day. Their fully trained staff are happy to provide free advice over the phone and advise you whether you need to take your pet to the Vets Now Hospital. Please do not hesitate to call them if you are at all concerned.
Please be aware that because of the nature of Out of Hours emergencies, a night-time or weekend appointment will be more expensive than seeing a vet during usual hours. However, the Vets Now team will advise you of costs when you initially call them.
