About Us

Queens Crescent Veterinary Practice was first established in the 1920s by Sir William Weipers at 13 Queens Crescent. Sir William Weipers was instrumental in the setting up of Glasgow University Veterinary Hospital at Garscube Estate in Bearsden.

It has served the population of Glasgow since then. Dr Una McLean purchased the practice in January 1994 after spending 3 years in mixed practice. Since then, the practice has grown and developed into a team of 4 veterinary surgeons with a supporting nursing team and is a tier 2 RCVS accredited practice. This is not a compulsory requirement, but the practice wished to take it on board to adhere to the high standards required by the RCVS.

We are extremely proud to be one of the few remaining independent small animal practices in the face of fierce corporate competition. This allows the team to retain their own identity and integrity in the care of our patients and clients.

We are passionate about the care of our patients and strive to provide the best level of care. Our ideal is to give time to our clients and a personal service. We thoroughly enjoy getting to know our patients and their families.

The post graduate programme of the practice has provided support and training to new veterinary surgeons with the guidance of a Veterinary GPD advisor allowing young veterinary surgeons to develop with confidence.

In 2022, the practice applied for Veterinary Nursing Training Status and we hope it will be in place in the imminent future.

There is nothing more rewarding for ourselves than seeing a recovered patient and a relieved and delighted owner. This is what we always hope to achieve.
